Sky Strike Cross Europe HBO Deal
It’s no secret that one of the biggest drivers of growth for Sky in the last couple of years has been their exclusive deal with HBO. It’s ensured that the likes of Game of Thrones, The Soprano’s, The Wire, Girls and countless others have landed on our screens shortly after their US debuts. Time and time again, customers have cited that Sky Atlantic is one of their primary reasons for keeping ahold of their subscriptions, but what about overseas?
With Sky’s big expansion into Europe with Sky Deutschland and Sky Italia, the company have been looking for ways to get customers on board in those countries. Now, with the news that Sky and HBO have struck a deal to bring their content exclusively to customers in Germany, Austria and Italy, it looks like they have it. With this deal, Sky has exclusive first run rights to broadcast all the latest HBO shows to over 21 million people, including the forthcoming Martin Scorsese record industry drama ‘Vinyl’ and the exciting joint-partnership with Canal+, ‘The Young Pope’. The deal will run until 2020.

Team Sky Tour Bus Goes on Sale
Here’s your chance to own a piece of sporting history: the Team Sky motorhome is up for auction. Yes, that’s right, the motorhome which housed the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome has hit auction site eBay and racing fans are going wild.
The motorhome itself is a Fiat Eura Mobile ACTIVA 820HS 3.0L Tag Axle model and comes in the famous black Team Sky livery, with a large blue stripe down the middle. Though unfortunately the Team Sky branding will be removed before the sale. Internally, it’s just as luxurious as you’d expect such an important motorhome, with full leather benches, washroom and full separate shower. The auction is currently sitting at the princely sum of £31,000, but we’d expect that number to jump by the time it reaches its end on at 22:55 on the 14th of November, 2015.
The listing was recently removed and re-uploaded with the Team Sky logo edited out, after the 0844 800 3115 contact number for Sky received a number of enquiries.

Sky Name New Comedy Chief
Sky are completing yet another internal management shake-up, the first since Gary Davey took over the position of content boss earlier in the year.
Becoming Head of Comedy is Jon Mountague, who has been filling in that position since Lucy Lumsden exited the company in September. The commissioner, whose credits include Trollied, Mount Pleasant and Stella will now be in charge of looking after comedy on Sky1, Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts. Mr. Davey said “Jon has done an outstanding job of nurturing many of our most important returning shows and I know he will take good care of Sky’s highly valued comedy heritage,”
Also on the move is Sky 1 director Adam MacDonald, who also becomes head of Sky Living’s largely acquisition based schedule, effectively doubling his workload. In turn, Julia Barrey (former Living head) moves to focus on Sky’s On Demand output.
