1). If you only access email via web browser:

Now if you access your emails only via your web browser (i.e. you don’t use Outlook etc.), then just change your existing password then again sign in to Sky Yahoo Mail to check whether you still have access or not.

Mail yourself some test emails to check whether these get directly transferred to the trash folder or not. All the previous emails will remain there in the trash folder and all new emails should arrive directly into the Inbox.

Now if this step doesn’t solve your problem, then check for whether you have any third party mailbox e.g. Hotmail, yahoo mail or Gmail set up to access your emails. If yes, then this set up might be using POP to fetch your emails and unless you set to keep emails on the server, all emails would keep on entering into the trash of your Sky Yahoo Mail account.

  • Just sign in to other mailbox of yours and do check all your mail fetching settings. Ensure to enable any option (if there is), to leave all messages on the server, once they have been fetched. If there is no such option then you can always delete the mail fetching option and set up the mail forwarding option from your Sky Yahoo Mail.

You must also check for any filters set up by selecting the gear icon on the top-right corner of your window followed by the Mail Options.

  • Just click Filters and check for all those filters which may send messages directly to the Trash folder.

2). If you access emails via some email client:

Email clients like Outlook possess settings which decide what has to be done with your emails after being downloaded from the server.

It could be set either to:

  • Maintain an email copy on the server which you can access easily when you sign into Sky Yahoo Mail via any web browser.
  • Delete an email from the server after it is downloaded that will automatically move it to the trash folder. It is the default setting for clients using POP and it might need to be changed in case if you don’t want your emails to be moved to the trash folder.
